Welcom NA
To the real world, you being DF'd means absolutley sod all! The only real problem is your family 'having to' shun you. But hopefully they will realise what stupidity this is, and without any real substance....after all, blood is thicker than water....and they may gradually see the pointlessness of such actions.
Keep cool, be you...and you're happiness at being free will be seen by all!

Words you used instead of cussing
by JH inwitnesses must always have a clean and pure language to honor god, and must never cuss.
now imagine an elder accidentally hitting his finger with a hammer...
what words may he exclaim in this moment of pain?

Trying to disguise frustration and anger always made me chuckle. Many times I was working alongside Bro's on building sites and when mistakes were made and frustration was boiling...them trying so hard not to blurt out expletives made me cringe. One bro' tipped a whole barrow load of concrete over, that he'd spent ages mixing up. and he went to say the 'F' word...he held the 'F' for a few seconds...so I finished it for him, in an inquisitive way.....'FFFFFFF.......F**K!...He laughed for the rest of the afternoon.
But words common were...Strap!....Flippin' heck..(?)...sugar...and Big Bucket of Fudge!...tut tut!

How many "real friends" did you have in your congregation?
by JH inmost congregations have about 80 to 120 people.
out of that, how many could you consider being a "real friends"?
personally, not one of them was a "real friend".

This is a great question?
Absolutely NONE! Friendship cannot be conditional, can it. Its a sad statement, but I can honestly say that there is no one that attends the KH that I sometimes think about and say, 'ooh, I do miss them'...In fact I would go as far to say that I offered more 'Real' frienship to people than I received, but generally felt it was always slapped back in my face, as I obviously wasnt meeting their standards. Look where I am now! I have REAL Friendship with numerous people...(why would I be better off returning?)

After jacking it all in, I used every spare moment in the evenings to train hard to make the most of the time I had left in my legs to play the sport I loved.Saturday evenings having a beer or two...and being able to lie in on a Sunday morning....no meeting or F.S!..
Basically the life of any normal person.

How would it stand if a baptized person, was to marry an unbaptized person. Would they still be pulled up, as marrying 'not in the lord'????

I was just relating an experience to my kids about times I felt embarrassed as a youngster.
I gave them a story about the time I was going to the meetings. We had a Congregational outing to a zoo. A time for team building and all that!! When we arrived on the coach the Bro' who decided HE was in charge TOLD us all when we should meet back to eat our sandwiches at a particular point. If that wasnt bad enough, before the 50+ of us were allowed to eat our sarnies, we had to wait for Bro' 'This was my idea' to turn up, as he was going to give thanks...WHAT?...50 or so of us, sitting on a patch of grass, in the middle of a crowded picnic area, waiting to eat some flimsy sandwiches...and we have to wait for a Bro' to give thanks for us!!
We must have looked a right bunch of numptys..all sat, heads bowed, as this Bro' prayed for us!! and it was a right showy display.
I know some will argue that its only right to give thanks before eating etc...but thats a personal thing!!
Was there a time when you felt 'WHY?.....There's no need for that!'

shunning
by sugarbritches inthe witnesses have all told me that they aren't allowed to talk to a df'd person because the bible says to treat him as a man of the nations, as a tax collector-- yet they talk to men of the nations, they talk to tax collectors.
so where does it say they are to shun a df'd person- that they have to treat the person as though he isn't even in the room?
to me, this is so cruel.-sugarbritches

Kwin....
Spot on...! short, sweet, and not a word out of place. That is exactly how it goes.
Where in the Bible does it mention the word Disfellowship anyhow? Its a controlling, self-preserving tactic!
